Gen2 - Gen3 3sge Conversion

Currently my townace has a gen2 3sge
I was looking at upgrading to a gen3 3sge, do the blocks and heads have the same castings for mounts powersteering pump and alternator? Is the water outlet on the head the same too?
The top waterpipe and alternator bracket are custom so would be good to swap them straight over.
The exhaust and intake ports are different so will need new flanges welded on the intake manifold and extractors?
Can I wire a gen 3 engine to the gen2 loom wired into the van currently and run it off a megasquirt or will I need the gen3 loom?

You will need to use all Gen 3 parts, although alternators are the same
Its just easier




I worked at Dodsons and did about 4 or 5 Gen 3 conversions in MR2's and this was the best way even used the Gen 2 computer

Whats the deal with using the gen 2 computer? Run the gen 3 off the gen 2 loom and ecu?

Sorry to hijack thread somewhat.. so this would be similar to wanting to drop a GTT motor into an ST185?
