Altezza fuel rail plumbing

Postby spannersnz » Sun Jul 25, 2010 11:27 pm

Ok so I have to connect up some fuel line to my Beams 3sge fuel rail, but am a bit confused. When I got the motor both ends of the rail are capped with bolts, and the reg was as it should be. I wanted to know why the rail has 2 ends which could be used as a feed? On the altezza, are both used at once? Or did they just use the same fuel rail for a few different 3s motors? I was planning on just putting the feed into one end of the rail and leaving the other end capped. Is this the norm?

Oh wow... after some more sensible googling I see it doesnt even have a fpr in the fuel rail. It supposedly sits in the tank? Uh oh...

Any thoughts on just running a constant feed to the rail and hooking an FPR up to it to replace the pulsating unit thing?

Im quite confused here - just found 2 extra fuel lines that run down the side of the motor and that do all sorts of weird things. I would love to give that shit a miss but running std ECU might dictate what I can and cant remove

Any ideas where to put a reg then? I was thinking just plumb one into the end of the fuel rail. Or somewhere in the line before the rail....

i think you will also need to plumb in a fuel damper on the rail too
try and copy what a celica one works like is best option i think,

damper on rail
fuel tank ----- filter - ^-----rail----- fpr--return line
(i think)

yes, altezza runs a returnless system. so just tap one of the ends of the rail with a fitting to run to a regulator. Damper is a part of the banjo bolt that holds the fuel feed line onto the rail.

Fuel pressure is 46psi

i've got a few spare rails if you make a f**kup and need one, as well as a damper or two.

Cool thanks. Rail comes ready with threaded ends so I will just chuck a fitting into one and get a sard FPR. I hate spending moneys!

Anyone know of any standard FPRs which would work ok? Tempted to hit pick a part
