F1 is meant to have the best drivers in the world.
Surely they can handle a little traffic...

If you watch the in car footage from Webbers car you can hear him back off the throttle long before reaching Heikki . Hes not trying to get more slip stream.

From what I see. They both tried to get the inside line for the next corner. Heikki defending. Webber starts to move to the outside of the track, as Heikki had closed the door. But Heikki realises how fast Webber is closing in and attempts to move out of the way as Webber tries to go around the outside. Heikki brakes early + Webbers closing speed = no time to react.

Interesting story about the Red Bulls and why they may be so much quicker in Q3 than most teams, not in english, but a basic sum up below.

A secret of Red Bull's superior pace in the decisive Q3 phase of qualifying may have been revealed.

Autosprint's auto.it website reports that the team has a special electronic setting for the Renault engine that maintains a constant exhaust gas pressure.

When the setting is selected, the stream of gases flow constantly from the exhaust through the double diffuser, even when the driver of the RB6 is not pressing the throttle.

This would increase downforce at slow speeds.

The setting, revealed initially on the blog of the British journalist James Allen, is reportedly used sparingly - for example only in Q3 - because it is damaging to the engine.

The RB6 has been on pole position at 8 of the 9 grands prix so far this season.

Would explain why the Bulls are so fast in qually, but then come race day, the Maccas are generally keeping up/going faster.

Interesting!

In other news.... Senna dropped for the weekend, and maybe the rest of the season.

And Bernie says there is no place in F1 for FOTA.... And there is a spat developing about sponsors logos on in teams pit areas and on the trucks!
Wtf.... How can they expect the teasm to get sponsors if they are not allowed to display their names?!

One of the teams should just put some big stickers on their trucks of mad max engaged in his extra curricular activities, pretty sure Bernie would soon change his mind and say sponsorship is the lesser of 2 evils

Was great watching Hamilton in the first practice last night going around the new fast right. Theres a huge bump right on the apex that throws the cars off, Hamilton went balls out 3-4 time with a huge moment each time, brilliant!

Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Yeah, good on Webber for getting one up on the team. What excuse can they use now for stealing his parts for Vettell? Dissapointing in a way that Vettell got that puncture, would have been a awesome battle between the two at the front me thinks.

Vettel reminds me of Hamilton a couple of years ago he doesn't seem to have the patience or the maturity as yet.He likes to force the issue when he doesn't need to and its almost like he feels he has to win every race.Talent wise I styill feel he's better than Webber but in the patience and maturity stakes Webber is streets ahead.

I can see Hamilton winning this championship this year he has really taken a big stride foward this year even without the quickest car out there perhaps the 3rd or 4th quickest 2nd was a really good result.

As I think I said earlier Alonso > Massa Hamilton >Button and at the moment I'll eat my words and say Webber >Vettel for the mean time.

Seems I misjudged Webber's abilitites, not his driving skills but his PR and skills at psyching out his opponents/teamate

He's taken taken the negative of being treated as a #2 driver and turned it into positive motivation, and at the same time forced his team principal into stating that if the situation is the same and Webber is ahead of Vettel in the championship race, then he will be favoured.

His "Not bad for a #2 Driver" quip at the end of the race would have to go down as the best move in F1 2010 so far

If any Vettel fanyboys are looking for someone to blame then they should be looking at those who so publicly favour Vettel. Nothing motivates a driver like anger at being treated unfairly, and that's all that Webber needed to stick it to Vettel in the first corner.

Then Rob Smedley said 'Good lad, sorry'.

I have a feeling that these results may yet be squashed at the WMC meeting

What a shit end to a race, Alonso should have been forced to actually fight Massa for the postion

Alonso should be banned for all the dodgy things he gets involved in.
All the big scandals of the last few years... he's in there somewhere!
