gen1 v5 link 4agze, work on 5efte?

Postby sik_gt_starly » Mon Jul 26, 2010 5:05 pm

Have just bought myself what appears to be a gen 1 v5 link ecu.

Has 4agze sticker with some numbers on it and was running a mates 4agze but hes just upgraded to gen 4 storm and brand new 4agte and done me a sweet deal.

Im going to call link once i find a bit more info out about it and see whats what.

Is there anything else i will need to get so that this will run my high compression 5efte?

I do realise that its setup for a 4agze so of course will need to be wired in and tuned.

Thanks for info

Should be ok, same trigger pattern so would be the same sub board. I say should be ok because I have come across some of the ep90/91 4e/5e's with different ignition triggers(Rare occurence) & from memory Link never did a sub board for that setup so a V5 would be out, if by some unfortunate circumstnace you did have the wrong triggers you can always swap in the more common 4e/5e dizzy/triggers etc & run that with the 4age/gze sub board

Do 5efte run wasted spark from factory? I know the quite a few if not all 4agze's run wasted spark & DLI, if your 5efte has DLI & running wasted spark you should be ok. Trigger pattens will probably be different, same 24tooth trigger for trig one, but for trig two it depends on what you use on the 5efte

Trigger patterns are basically the same for most of the common toyota 4 cylinders in most cases 3sge/4age/4e/5e all use much the same trigger's there are some odd ones out there like I've seen a couple of 4e/5e's with different triggers but they are an exception & even then you could swap the dizzy/triggers in out of the more common ones to save any hassles
