Accusump - where to buy

Postby Stealer Of Souls » Thu Jul 29, 2010 2:26 pm

I got reminded about accusumps just today and got thinking about buying one.
I remember a few people on here trying to rig up a deal, but also talking about buying them. I was just wondering if you can buy them in NZ. Or do I need to get them shipped in.
Also, what's the going rate?

second for summit,
if your after the electric solenoid valves, you can find them at a gas supplys store for cheaper, last i checked they where $38 for the valve and a few dolla for the fittings to plumb up, make sure you tell them its 12v. then its just a matter of getting a switch to activate it, jaycar had some good ones,

Hey dude - how you going?
I've run an accusump for several years now - you're welcome to come and look at it before it goes back into my racecar so you can get an idea of the size.

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

Can accomplish almost the same thing with a capped vertical tube, oil feed in from the bottom with the resulting air bubble compressing up top. The accusump only has a piston & compressed air so that it can be mounted in any position.

Although you cant precharge the capped vertical tube like you can with the accusump.

Sweet, does that mean you're finally planning on getting the Levin out on the track again? You mentioned you wanted to do a few things...I'm even motivated to trade in the barge for something fun again so meet you at Hampton Downs in a couple of months...or more likely on Sunday...

Cheers for suggesting Summit. When I have a moment I'll have to compare their prices. I'm assuming that since people are suggesting it they ship to NZ.

Hey Ken. Yeah things are good. I've finally decided to do another round of work on the car. It's been a bit neglected of late (in fact it has been driven properly in the last few months), and I'm feeling the trackday urge.
I might try to come see your accusump. Any suggestions on how to set it up? Manual valve vs solenoid vs ??? Sizing?
At this stage I'm mostly interested in the pre-oiling since my car isn't driven very often, but also recognise the value during track time (although I think I drive too much like a pansy to really need one on the track).
