Postby l1ttle_d3vil » Sat Jul 31, 2010 2:44 pm

What is the correct gap for BKR6E spark plugs? Running on a 4age turbo.

Tried googling but can't get a proper answer...

They'll be pregapped at 0.8mm...maybe close them up a bit if you're running high boost

If NGK plugs are set at anything other than 0.8mm, it will say in the part number e.g bkr6e-11

12 - 14psi is about the highest boost I would be running. Figured they would probably be fine as they are but thought I'd check.

The correct gap depends on how much boost you're running.
They're normally pregapped at 1.1mm , that's the ones with 11 at the end.
.8mm works better but .65 works better still with no misfire at high boost levels, at least in a Mitsi with stock ignition.
If the gap is too big , it'll misfire when the boost rises. 1.1mm is OK for a stock turbo car.

Actually normal is 0.8mm.
Anything that is not at 0.8mm will have a gap prefix on the end,
which is why 99% of the 0.8mm plugs have no gap prefix.

Ive run both BKR6E and BKR7E in the MR2 at 16-18PSI. Never ever gapped them in over 100,000 kms of driving, just used them out of the box.

Mine are at .4 and they're choice.
I use R5671a-8 NGK's. They replaced BCR8E
