Best way to get an Exhaust from Auck - Chch

Postby MoNk » Fri Aug 27, 2010 9:49 am

I have one in the latest Hayatonka container.

I did an online estimate from Mainfreight and got $190-$250 approx. Reasonable?
Or I can fly up and risk Pacific Blue not taking it. But that's a day off work, and a boring day at the airport (snore).

Anybody know a good courier company that they have used that will take oversized? It is probably the same size and weight of a stock MR2 exhaust.

Going from Mangere South (next to the Airport), to anywhere in Chch.

I would say thats a bit expensive. The exhaust isnt that big.
This should be a much cheaper option.

Checked that out before. Using the calculator on the site they say they will not take it.

how much does it weigh? approx dimensions?

looking at there calculator the biggest they take is:
Weight: 25kg
Length: 1.250m
Height: 0.40m
Width: 0.20m
Volume: 0.1 m3.

The exhaust can't be far off this?

And if its bigger there fairly relaxed about it.
At my old work (a bike shop) we would send stuff through out NZ using Fastways. A bike from Whangarei to Queenstown for example was about $100

Dimensions of a bike box:
Length: 1.35m
Width: 0.195m
Height: 0.72m
Volume:0.18954 m3.
Weight: ~20kg
