I don't think an ordinary head unit puts out enough power to run a sub.
If you tell us what sub and head unit you have got we may be able to tell you what you can do.

I got a 12 inch sub nd 4 speakers
but my stereo in my car doesnt have a rca port i think
so i cant run an amp i think?
so i have two wires running to the boot of the car
they are ment for the rear speakers
but i thought i would just hook up a sub nd 2 speakers to each wire?
on the left and right as i have tryd this on a normal stereo nd it has worked

Unless you have no money, go see a professional sounds installer. I really don't think it's a wise move to touch it yourself if you're having to ask the above questions.

You can get amps that will run via speaker wires. But ummm well, get a pro to do it. The fact your head unit doesn't have any RCA's probably means its rubbish in any case.

Sub off of headunit is the funniest thing i've heard in a while though. No, just no.

Do some research on www.google.com on car audio and learn a thing or two about it before even touching it

But on a serious note i think i saw a item on jaycar which converted normal speaker wire to rca plugs/output.

The only way to tell if your stereo has rca out is to take it out and see if it has red and white female a/v style plugs on the back.

I will try to find a basic stereo wiring diagram to show you how it should be set up.
