track/club car replacement door cards

Postby Nuty|Mike » Sat Sep 18, 2010 9:58 pm

Looks like ive sold my door cards and a problem I have come up with is what light weight option I have to replace these.

Any cheapish easy ideas on what I can use?

Also for the rear doors can I just leave these gutted and open (no rear seats and planning on cage at some stage)

Cheers

There is someone in auckland who can cut sheets of carbon.
My mate got it done to his car. Looks quite nice.

I really don't like the thought of thin sheets of carbon fibre, that can and will fracture in an accident, so close to me, puncturing clothing and skin with ease....?

Carbon vinyl on thin alloy sheet = best of both worlds.

I reckon stock is the best option, it's usually light and crash safe, and depending on your car, available at Pick a Part for not much.

There are usually more important things to put effort into on a race car.

What about thin plastic sheet? I'm pretty sure you can get it from commonish places like Stationary shops, shouldnt be too expensive either, most likely range of colours, easy to cut ~1mm sheet

Real estate signs fit a n AW11 door very nicely. The real estate companies usually also have signs that are too scruffy on the printed sign to use so you could probably get them for nothing.
See ya
