Brake lights not working...?

Postby l1ttle_d3vil » Sat Oct 16, 2010 5:00 pm

The brake lights on the KE25 haven't been working for a while, figured I better get it sorted before the drags. Thought it was the bulbs so I replaced them, but still don't work.

Have checked the switch on the brake pedal which seems to be working all good, and no fuses are blown that I can find.

They are standard single terminal bulbs. Should the spot in the centre of the bulb seat have 12v when the pedal is pushed, while the round part which the bulb clips in to provides the earth?

Any ideas on what else to check?

Cheers
-Matt

???
wont be the single contact bulbs chief, stop/tail bulbs are double contact.....
start at the fuse box, if you have power on the STOP fuse move to the brake pedal switch, power on one side, then on the other when you press in the pedal.....
PM me for anything autoelectrical, Info or jobs etc....

Aahhg FFS. If I try changing the correct bulbs it might help.

For some reason I had pulled the reverse bulb out, and just my luck that wasn't working either. It did cross my mind yesterday why it was only single contact though, guess I shouldn't drink before working on the car
