Where to buy oil temp sender?

Postby Twolitre » Thu Dec 09, 2010 12:07 am

I need a replacement oil temp sender that goes in the sump plug as my factory mitsi one is leaking  and I don't want to pay dealer prices although I haven't actually priced one up yet. but I can't imagine it being cheap.

repco'z will have the tridon catalog. if you can take the sender / get the thread + pitch they can work out which generic one to use **

** assuming you dont get a muppet

Sorry to hijack, but on a similar note...

Is it possible to by the adaptor thread for one of those sandwich plates for these temp/pressure senders? Im talking about the part that fits in the plate and screws directly onto the thread on the block :)

Just had a look on Tridon's website and am assuming you are referring to using a water temperature sender for my application as in the link below?

All the oil temp senders I have seen are different to water temp,
as oil temp usually is hotter than water temp,
so the resistance to temperature relationship is different.
