AE92 fxgt window winder - replace? rebuild?

Postby gmacrae » Mon Jan 03, 2011 3:05 pm

Hey guys. Just wanna pick your brains about what to do about the window winder in my ae92. It still works but its grinding metal on metal and will eventually snap the plastic winder handle itself if i keep it like it is. I'd rather not get a second hand one, if there's a way to rebuild/rebearing or replace the part itself that'd be my preference. I'll check with rutherford & bond when they're open but i bet the new replacement part is an arm and a leg.

What dya reckon?

Cheers

Gene

I think I've got all four winders (because I have all four doors on my lawn).

So you need a rear winder?

I will go dig around the doors today and check that they're all working ok because they're unknown condition to me.

I don't need any money for it, so whatever it costs to chuck on parcel post up to you (assuming the ones I have all are all good)

no its the drivers door winder that is stuffed in my car, but i know any second hand drivers door winder i get is likely to be just as stuffed - was hoping the rear right winder/mechanism might be the same as it will be much less used.

If its a 4 door, i guess there is no guarantee that even the drivers door winder will be the same - wanna chuck me an email maybe? I'm happy to pay something for the thing, might just wanna check out a couple photo first if possible?

Cheers
