Port Road Street sprints (NOT DRAGS) are running all Sunday

Apparently spectators are officially banned this year
(haven't checked with officials, but this came from a minion so anything is possible)

You can only spectate from behind the barriers which is really only Barnes street. You sure your not confusing them with the port road drags?

Odd, unless they are meaning spectators in the pits, start/finish line area maybe.

Just got back from the long weekend and its positive to see a good number of people have posted in here.

Im sure if we all put our heads together we could come up with some good ideas for a get together one weekend that suits everyone. If anyone has any suggestions then by all means, please share them. :)

For sure. :)

Depending on how much time everyone has got on the day, we could even take a look at trying to decide on a good meeting place that has enough room for everyones cars and having a BBQ or maybe just grab some fish n chips/takeaways, whatever suits everyone.

Then once we are less healthy we can go for a night drive. Possibly SH2 over the Rimutukas and out to Martinborough/Lake ferry or somewhere similar?? The roads are nice out that way and with very little traffic too.

Anyone else with some other/better suggestions? Just post em up and let the democracy decide hehe

Yeah Makara is a bit meh. Can always drive out to Kaitoke for BBQ (I think they have them there?) then cruise over to the Wairarapa

I was going to suggest Kaitoke for the BBQ too as it has one we can use at the brown owl park. Far easier than one of us packing a bbq into the boot of our car hehe. Far nicer/healthier than buying takeaways too :)

Its also at the bottom of a very nice hill, leading to even nicer roads over that hill so it would make for a good location to meet up given the amount of parking there would be available.

If we end up meeting during the early arvo when theres lots of sunlight left, someone with a steady hand and a large lens might be nice enough to bring along their skills to snap some pics of everyones car parked up together? If anyones handy with a camera and is keen to snap some pics on the day, that would be great.

Anyway, keep the ideas coming and Im sure we can come up with something interesting enough to keep us all occupied on the day.
