are the lights on the amp going? check fuses and make sure that there are no stray wires touching metal

I had the same problem, found it to be a bad ground location and the bolt not tight enough to the chassis.

check resistance on coils with multimeter.

if the subs are toast there may be a burnt smell to the coils. Test by smell or pushing the cones in and out and seeing if there is friction if the coils are burnt to crisp.

Alternatively pull sub and test another unit, either sub on another amp or another sub on the amp.
Check all settings on headunit and amp. Check connections aren't loose behind headunit.

So the lights on the amp are on?

What impedance do you get across the coils of the subs?

Remove the speaker wire from the amp and get a 9V battery. Carefully touch the wires to a terminal each and watch the cone to see if the voice coil is still doing its job.
