Hi,
I am looking for an electric water pump for intercooler (so not too large).
It is for my GT4 and original (ST165) has failed. I managed to fix it before (new brushes cleaned commutator, replace bearing) but it stopped again (after prolonged period not in use). I cannot be bothered to fix it (since it is a bit too small).
Where do I buy a good quality one?

Got one in my car and it's the one bit that hasn't caused me drama :lol:

Oh trust me, you most definitely can! :lol:

Their larger water pumps (EWP80 and 110) were hideously unreliable, prone to leakage and motor failures. Fortunately their new design (I think only the EWP110 has it) where the motor is within the pump casing is infinitely better.

Frozenboost and other sites recommend a particular Bosch pump as oem fitted to a mustang cobra. I just ordered a Toyota genuine pump for my 205 from 1I1 alot cheaper than the Bosch item would cost to order.

put an early legacy turbo one on it, they are dime a dozen and every pickapart probably always has one

I already have one - they are exactly same unit as ST165 (except for the plug). I want new so I don't have to worry about it stopping.

If you're willing to adapt one, the TGP ST205 one is very well priced.

I have bought a davies craig booster kit for $190 on trade me (from segedins)... Which is well within the budget. will look into TGP if that pump fails or under-delivers.

205 is cheaper

But let us know about the DC one, have thought about it, but their reputation has been pretty patchy. At least the Bosch unit is solid.

Ive heard those plastic ones don't handle high temp very well, so instead of pushing down from the charge cooler into the heat exchanger, they push from the heat exchanger into the charge cooler.

Unlike the ST205 pump which is made of cast aluminum and steel. Apparently they can be repaired with $5 bearing kits, although since they only cost $99, I couldn't be bothered with the repair.

Unit has arrived and it has BOSCH written all over it. So in reality I could have bought it for cheaper as BOSCH item....
On up side the pump is very light.

Regarding ST205 pump only $99 - is that true? I have probably rushed with purchase. Will inquire with Mark....

Maybe, you often find that with things like that they are made for the end company and you can't buy them separately.
Or, as I often find here, the end company has a supply agreement with the maker and it's a lot dearer to buy from the maker.
We get that with a lot of Danfoss and Poclain stuff

Nope, The housing is very similar, the motor is much smaller.
the one I have got brushless motor as well.

The frozen boost unit is excellent and extremely quiet, Worth the money in my opinion.
