Hey all. Just got a GT Caldina which seems to insist on telling me that the keys are in the ignition, the drivers door is open, the ignition is on etc. You know the annoying little beeps, buzzers alarms etc. So I want to get rid of them, I think it is somewhere in the jungle that is below the fusebox but can't see much there that looks like it would be making the noise... Anyone know exactly where to find the culprit?

just try pulling each fuse out one by one until you kill the beeps?

I found on my Trueno I only disconnected the switch which is operated by the key, I simply unplugged it on the ignition barrel and it got rid of those annoying beeps.

That might do it too... will invert myself later under the dash and see what I can disconnect. Makes you wonder just how retarded Toyota thinks we are?!

My old Starion had a box under the seat with a switch, flick that and got rid of the beaps.
Problem is that I left the lights going one night and flattened the battery and locked the keys in the car.
Switched it back on after that! :lol:

If you disconnect the switch on the ignition barrel, the light warning beep will still be functioning (which is good).

Why not find the speaker and kill it?

I HATE the seatbelt buzzers they have on newer cars.

That is the best way,

as it is really easy to do,
It is really easy to undo,
it doesn't affect the normal headlight beeper.

all these useless beepers, and yet i havent seen one that beeps when your engines starting to overheat.. or when oil pressure drops..

Maybe the engine manufacturers don't expect this to happen to thier engines? :lol:

But they can completely see Joe Public leaving thier door open, lights on, or seatbelt unbuckled. :lol:

And flat batteries on new cars cause issues with grumpy customers,
even when it's is the customer's fault.

Been to a few cars now where the customer blames the brand new battery we sold them last week as being faulty,
but as soon as you connect the jumper leads the headlights come on...........

Smart idea...

Simply removed the two screws on either side of the steering wheel on the steering column shroud and the one underneath. Pop the lower half of the shroud off and have a look at the ignition barrel. There are two plugs, one with 8 or so wires and one with 4. Unplug the one with 4 wires which is closest to the end of the barrel and reassemble the column shroud.

Beeps stopped
