Good to hear that the jappas can keep up with the aussie muscle!

Sort-of... I bought a cheap foam brace from the local pharmacy. Better then nothing.

Haha yep alhtough I was mostly stoked at keeping with a Version 6 STi sedan (with video evidence to go with it). Not sure if he had any other mods but it certainly had a big exhaust on it.

I'm starting to think GTT's are a fraction underrated.

went to watch for a bit at hampton downs, the skyline gtst on the skidpan was awesome, as was that yellow racing car out on the circuit, i don't know what it was but it sounded like it revved to 15,000 and it looked like a 70's F1 or some shit, I'm sure someone will know what I'm on about and say what it is

it's alot easier to chase than it is to lead, he most likely wasnt pushing it as hard as the car could take and when your trailing behind him you can see exactly where to brake and where to accelerate to make up ground on him.

i think you'd find if he was on your trail, he would be right up your ass the whole time and find the perfect moment to power right past you

sorry to kill your buzz lol

GTT is a good handling car with good power no doubt, but it's a heavy wagon, probably long wheelbase short track too

My gearbox tops out at 140 in 3rd and i was in 4th before braking for turn 1.
I'd assume ~145ish as i was concentrating on braking points rather than the speedo.
Although i've only got 72hp to play with so everyone else would have been going alot faster.

Yeah I could hear them go 2nd, 3rd, hard on brakes, back to 2nd,.

I have boost spike at the top of 3rd somewhere just before my limiter, thats why I ask because I want to have a run on that track next time

Agree with what you're saying (easier to follow) but... that wasn't the case for the entire day. He slipped out to pass a couple times and couldn't do it - infact he wasn't even gaining. In the end he out braked me and snuck past on Castrol corner (after two laps). To which I matched him down the back and front straights again... twice. There's also a couple car lenghts between the two on the back straight given the corner you take to come onto it.

I've had a few goes against similar aged STi's on the road and had the similar results (including my mates dad's STi only two weeks ago). In then end I don't know if he was giving it everything or if he's done some dumb-ass mods and made the car slower - but I'll take it with my video and mates riding with me in agreement that there was nothing between the two cars.

Then what you're saying, STi isn't all that it's cracked up to be?

Nah - being the optimist I'm saying GTT's are better then they're given credit for. :P
