Link LEM G3 + VVTi - Any experts around?

Postby Truenotch » Fri Jun 10, 2011 2:48 am

Hi Guys,

I'm undertaking a dual beams coversion to the race car at the moment and want to keep VVTi going if possible. There' not a whole lot of information around about whether an LEM g3 will run proper VVTi or not (as opposed to switched VVT).

I know a G4 storm will do the job but there's an LEM G3 in my shed and saving money is a priority.

LEM G3's have pulse width outputs to control things like boost control etc, does anyone know if it will be possible to use these for VVTi?

Any tips, help or tales of impossibility appreciated.

Cheers,

Markku.

Tales from the crypt:

try talking to the dravitski's as i remember hearing they had an older model link in their blue runx/allex race car and was running vvti. (which i think is now sold)

I don't know anything about G3+VVTi, but I just upgraded firmware on my G3 to G4 and G4 firmware/software is lightyears ahead of G3. Upgrade costs 198+GST (or if you are a pirate you can write a script to brute force it, as it is only 4 digit number ;), in any case I paid as it is well worth it).

I think they may have ended up using a G4, but never actually checked this.

G4 Firmware upgrade would be the best option I would think.

as you get so many more benefits than just the VVTi ability.

perhaps ring keith stewart on 3248422 as he is local to you and likes Links, and has tuned some vvt cars.

Sounds like the G3 will only run single VVTi, even with G4 firmware added. So this ECU might be up for sale soon if anyone is interested?
