i agree. i look at it like this; if the engine is healthy and getting all the fuel and air it needs as well as keeping temps at bay, it should perform consistently to how the manufacturer tests them to start with. they do pretty brutal tests from factory like running it at redline for hours on a dyno.
i'd say my blacktop spends about 50-60% of its time running at redline or screaming to redline (including road and track driving) and has lasted pretty well. they just don't like 9-10K rpm as i found out...
also seen a 350000km silvertop being tested on dyno to the point headers were glowing red in the middle of the day and it didn't even miss a beat.
moral of the story; don't nana your car, 4ages can handle it.
