Steering knuckles

Postby 4agtepwr » Mon Jun 20, 2011 10:17 pm

Just pondering things at the momment, my starlet racecar has corona/celica struts that are 90mm bolt centers and adjustable bottom arm and radius rods for the castor instead of using the swaybar as per normal kp. The issue i have is that the steering knuckles are 145mm long leading to terrible lock as the factory starlet ones are 108, I think the shortest 90mm spacing ones are ta63 at 125mm which would be a heap better, does anybody have any other options or ideas?

Neg camber RCA's with differing bolt patterns, go to 85mm spacing and you can get powersteer AE86 arms. T3 do the steering arms with an even shorter length bolt hole as well.

yeah that's a good option, A good mate just pointed out that you could machine starlet arms to except the bigger ball joint and then making rca adopters, then the steering geometry would be back to standard?

yeh palmside, only difference is the 86 rack is a little longer. so ae86 rack in kp housing will give more travel / lock. not hard to cut rack down to suit car either if you have to

run this setup in my kp & ae85. (ae86 quick rack, kp housing)
