Actually it doesn't look identical to mine, gtstarped and I both have T04E 50 trims, mine from Altech, gtstarpeds from someone else, do you have a front end shot of the compressor, ie. straight on as the machining of the housing also looks different, either way the results will be similar as now the exhaust side becomes the restriction.

How's about this Al, because I own both a steel CT20b and a CT26/50 trim I'll dyno my car seperately with each turbo on 1 bar with identical mods and if the CT20b makes more power you can pay for my dyno run

Id be confident that the ct20b will still make more power.

But the main thing is the torque curve, where the power comes on from and where it drops off :)

BTW I'll be dyno'ing my old girl within the month

I'm going to mount the Caldina's intakre manifold & tb on my ST205,
but I saw that another difference is that the ST205's Throttle Position Sensor has 4 pins, and the new one only 3...
btw I think it should not be a problem to make it work with a Motec M4pro, right ?

Thank you, bye

4th pin is an idle switch, not required or used by the Motec.

I intend to :-) Preferable as soon as possible - hope to have her up n runnin well before Honda v Toyota drag day.

Personally I trust Steves work, his opinions and his experience - i would never have considered a high-flowed CT26 had it not been for him - i was all ready to put a TD05/6 20G on! Anyhow - will keep you all posted.

Cam sensor

Postby Pirken » Wed Jul 06, 2011 10:37 pm

Nice pictures of the cam sensor. This is and old tread but i wonder if any of you can answer me on this ?
Is the cam position either 475 or 115 degrees BTDC og somethin else ?

Im trying to get a AEM EMS to work on my caldina. but i cant get the crank to sync with the cam.
Have a LHD Caldina 1999. And i love it !!

To throw out so real numbers to confuse the CT26 thread hijack, my CT26 TO4E 46 trim turbo made 198 RWKW at 11.8 Psi on my 7MGTE there is dyno plot up in the projects section.

But the turbo rebuild cost about $1250 all up including some shaft and housing machining, which could have been better spent on a better turbo.

The exhaust is pretty dodgy and it still has the stock elbow which i will be changing in another month or two.

I don't know for sure, but Motec list it as approx 469°, which seems to tie into my very rough calculations from looking at the cam vs sensor position in the photo.

Easiest way would be to put a degree wheel on the crank, align the sensor with the cam trigger and than should give you the approx sync position.

Agreed - forget wasting money on trying to modify a CT26. We have found much better solutions!
