Oil gathering in 4AGZE channel

Postby tuff86 » Sun Jul 17, 2011 7:45 pm

I've got a rwd setup with t3/t4 turbo and it runs fine, just every 4-5000km there gets a fait bit of oil down where the spark plugs go, freaked me out the first time i noticed it, the leads were swimming in the stuff, anyone had this issue or knows how to avoid this happening again? I've replaced the cam cover seals twice now just to make sure they weren't faulty but still doing it?

Did you use sealant in the corners of the cam cover seals where it goes over the cams??

my 20v did this. The rubber seal around where the spark plug sits wasnt on properly. Adjusted it and problem solved

didn't use any sealant, i guess thats worth a try, there are no visible signs of oil leaks, i suppose it would be hard to tell unless the oil was filthy but

Cheers Rick, you're a legend, will give that a go once i've got the non vented cam cover modified for another breather.

Na, all that stuff is gone, i don't even have a cold start injector any more, its still running the standard 1 sided breather but, will get the other cover breathing as well and try that out.
