Club4ag has all of your answers

But try new plugs first, it's always a good place to start. Also check for vacuum leaks and anything else that might be giving the ECU a bung reading. I had similar issues for a long time because a previous owner had removed an economy gauge without blocking off the line.

Yeah?might get ahold of you if plugs don't work. From idle to about 3k it back fires a little but just has no go,if I'm stopped I have to drop the clutch at round 3k,don't get me wrong,in the rain and in a rwd it's bloody fun but annoying as I start work at 4am and have a 1 month old baby boy so don't wanna wake him up

Sounds like it's getting no TPS input. Computer thinks it's got no throttle so adds no fuel. Misfire is a lean misfire. I'd be very wary of running it as is. You'll be running extremely lean mixtures.
I'd check TPS wiring, TPS and computer.

Does the smallport also run MAP? I'm getting so rusty on my 4age stuff.
The answer is Helmholtz!

I'd check TPS wiring, TPS and computer.

It could also be leads, coil, injectors, fuel filter, fuel pump, air filter, AFM, vacume leaks

Ok so problem has surfaced itself again last night!! Drives like a pig below 3k but sweet after that and at idle it's struggling and surging.

Anyone have a diagnostic reader I can throw on it?

Cheers all
