8O Erm, I take it you means around the top of the windows? Could you please post up some pics? Pretty please? :D

If you don't want the box, would you be interested in selling it? I've no idea what it is either, I'm figuring it's a storage compartment - as if the caldina doesn't have enough!

I haven't found it sorry. One thing I have noted though, is that mine definitely has no solid bars, it's made of string only. ie - I think mine's only a cargo net sorry. I didn't realise there was a distinction.

No worries, easy mistake to make - the net/mesh looks exactly the same... :)

^ The box is called a 'Clean Box'. Unfortunately yours is missing the box part. It's basically a small rubbish bin that was an optional extra. There were a few variations of the Clean Box across a range of Toyota models, including the Corolla and Starlet.

Nah, those hooks are to secure the cargo blind, that comes back to the boot door to hide the boot contents from outside view. Oh well, the hope was nice while it lasted!

The shield I've got goes up from just above those hook bits, and uses straps to secure to hooks on the boot floor. In case of emergencies resulting in sudden braking, it prevents the contents of the boot coming into the passenger compartment and braining it's occupants...

Shame the box in the side of the central console isn't complete... you still want it? :P

Looking at that net it wouldn't stop stuff braining you in an accident - there'd either be an instant hole in your net or the stuff would come flying at you with a net in front of it?

dont get how those hooks secure the blind, either way my blind is barely used as my boot is pretty much empty except for jumper cables and visible vest for pick a part.

Could care less about that box haha, will have to see if i clean the consold once removed otherwise it leaves a dark spot where it was bolted. You want it?

The hooks work an internal mechanism that you can't really see from outside. See the alcoves on top, with the two slots each side?

The square bits at the end of this one:

Image (sorry for shite pic, I took one from a random current TM listing)

fit into the alcoves, and the slots attached to the blind cross beam get locked in when you move the hooks in.

But yeah, if you want to sling that box out, I'll gladly take it off of your hands. let me know if you want shot of it, I'll sort you out for shipping. :)

Engine block, big dog, body of stripper? Nah, I'd be deader than dead. :P

A few tins of baked beans, or an overnight bag? I like my chances. Really depends on how it attaches at the top, but since I have abso-fracking-lutely no idea of how it attaches at the top, and I have even less intention of crashing, I guess we'll never know!

Quick google image search on toyota cargo nets shows that it might go across the rear of the car to stop cargo falling out when you open the door?

Yeah, exactly - for cargo nets. The caldina has clips in three or four locations, so you can hold stuff down, or back/in place. But it's just that - a net, with no frames. I have one of those.

A cargo shield/barrier however has metal frames at the top and bottom, with nylon mesh inbetween. The frames provide a bit of rigidity to it, to keep stuff from entering the passenger cabin. At the bottom, it has straps that use the same hooks the cargo net uses; at the top however, it has small poles that expand outwards, to attach to clips/mounts that are attached to the internal framing of the caldina around where the top of the rear windows meet the ceiling. I don't have those, and that's what I'm looking for. Hope this helps!
