I like how it makes the car look like an older saloon race car.
But then I think the newer mags make make it look a bit more refined.

Hard to decide -have you thought of keeping both?

Yeah, it certainly gives it more of a track appearance with the SA15's. I would like to keep both, but I'd need to sell my current ones to recuperate the cost of buying the new wheels. Thanks for your input man.

Hmm, yeah I think I'd like them even more if they weren't white. I saw a Corolla with bronze wheels today and it wasn't really my taste, but I wouldn't mind going for a silver or gunmetal. Maybe the same colour as my TRD strut brace.

The only type of rare special limited edition factory OEM spec wheels I can think of would be the ones that came on the insanely rare TRD2000 model (factory 3S-GE engine), but since there were only 12 TRD2000's ever made, the chances of finding them are next to impossible. They're only 15's anyway, which is a bit small for my taste.

I like to think of my Corolla as OEM+, as in I've taken parts from other Corolla models (such as the headlights and front bumper etc) and enhanced the look of mine, so there isn't really a 'theme' as such, but when it comes to wheels I prefer aftermarket styles as opposed to OEM :)

form follows function, IMO - and big wheels were originally to allow bigger diameter brakes. without the big brakes its just un-needed extra unsprung mass no?

anyway, i too would be in favor of something more suiting the style of the car. TOMs perhaps?

Very true. However, for me, when it comes to wheels it's preference over practicality in terms of the size. If I was using the car on the track I'd go for some lightweight 15's, but since it's my daily driver and is unlikely to see a track in the immediate future, the 17's are more to my liking :)

Would love to get some TOMs wheels. Really liking the 5-spoke ones you posted a photo of. In a way they're a similar design to the SA15's. I'd definitely be keeping with either silver or white though, as fluorescent orange certainly isn't my style :lol:

15's are cool but the car does need to be very low for them to look great, imo go for the 17's and you can keep your street drivability
