No, but I have my opinion and this is what this thread is about! :P

But if I was going to build a hot 20v I'd be starting with a ST

if the 16v wasnt great toyota would not have continued to develop it... so the 20v owes the 16v everything........

Yep and the SARD ecu gained so much it was insane. I'd have to have a look but it was like 20% gain

4age 20v maybe 76kw if its lucky... toyota lies

Thats one big thing that pissed me off with toyota, they lied to me about power output, a 4age 20v does not make close to 160hp, a 4agze doesnt make 145hp.... its all a giant conspiricy....

Not sure on silvertop ATW power figures, but it's not that uncommon for blacktops to be around 100kw ATW.

driven each one and been in a few S/C 4ag's so here is my take on it

daily - 16V or ST, 16v has heaps of torque and don't find yourself feeling the need to take it to the redline (if you do go there its not inspiring, just ok.) a nicely tuned ST is quite a good engine with some torque etc....

buuttt not on the same level as a BT for all out performance and fun to drive. BT's just love screaming to the redline and i can say that a link on a BT is even more fun than a tuned ST!

but def stay NA power IMO can't beat the sound of open trumpets hitting the limiter :P if you were in palmy i'd take you for a ride to show you how awesome it is :P

any 4ag is good though. just i prefer blacktop.

Not that the low low readings are because it was an engine dyno that was hooked to rollers, so its not wheel power, it's power after the wheels have turned the rollers via V8 supercharger belts 8O

Lets hope that works the same for 3SGTE's!

I've driven all kinds of 4AG, bar smallport ZE. Blacktops are definitely the most thrashable, and make reasonable power too. Smallports are pretty damn choice though, so much more low end torque compared to the others

Yup. My smallport is very nice to drive lowdown. You don't need to rev the tits off it to go quickly. My rev limit is set to 6000rpm (unintentionally) and I rarely find it even in passing lanes. I've driven every other 4AGE and down low/drivability wise, I personally wouldn't look past a smallport if it had to be NA. The 20V's are good and make more power up top but IMO feel dull down low unless you have short gearing/6spd to keep them up top. Thats just my opinion anyway and no doubt differs to everyone elses. Some people prefer high revs but I personally feel that it's what happens under 4000rpm that defines what a car is like to drive.
