I actually looked at a Defender 90 SWB.... it would have been safer but not sure he could handle a landie!

An ITR is still 14-15,000 for a late 2000's one, and a civic type R is even more for LESS car

At 17 any car was cool.... clapped out kp's, coronas, etc... only the rich kids had flash new cars and those who dealt. :roll:

Too right, my first car was an immaculate orange KP bugeye.. alternator shat itself so I sold it for $300 from memory!

I'm not even a parent and I find that statement appalling.. I really do hope you're making a typo or grammatical error or something? Or am I missing some sarcasm through the internetz?

Personally I'm of the opinion that if you earn something, you have greater respect for it as it has value to you. Not to say that everyone is like that, but I often see teenagers with cars given to them (whether it is by parents, or easy loan sharks), and they have very little respect for the vehicle.

My first car was a EE90, and while I didn't pay for the entirety of it, I did have to contribute a significant amount (to me at the time :lol: )

Sorry I meant that I didnt consider buying him a 5 star safety car as iresponsible. It was actually 2 statements sorry
I feel bad as you all think the car is rubbish and he would be embarrassed to drive it.

Its not as powerful as a commodore or a ford falcon which most kids in aussie learn to drive and use.

its only 190kw, not even as much as a stock WRX
