hey,
im planning on doing a rwd 4age conversion and i have all parts except i only have a aw11 loom (not a rwd ae86 loom). this means if i install the loom the ECU plugs end up near drivers front light....
Would it be possible to place the ECU in some form of water proof box up at the front there? or does it really need to be in the cabin?
There may be some other reason why this would not work but just an intial thought

A member of the power boat club runs a 1G Turbo in his Mod-H, Has the ECU in a plactic Sistema container, Keeps in dry, until he flips it, Then that is a different story...

They dont, but pretty sure from memory there is room for a loom inside the guard

majority of jap cars built in the last 7-8 years have the ecu in the engine bay.

A mate had a 1UZ in a trials type truck, did the same thing. It went upside down in mud, sand, allsorts and never had any issues.

50mm holesaw through the firewall + a grommet and you're sorted.
otherwise, try the hole where your cable clutch originally went through...
