kyb=trd? ??

Postby magweal » Mon Nov 21, 2011 10:38 pm

So I finally pulled the struts outta the carina(at210) which though were kyb's as I could see the stamp, when I got them out I decided 2 clean them a bit and low and behold there is trd stamped on them 2. My question is, is this right and could they fit a ae101( I need new shocks and I like the thought of trd)

Yep, TRD and quite a few OEM shocks are made by KYB. Dunno if Carina ones would fit though

the rear top hats should be a different bolt pattern, but if you change them to ae101 items you should be able to put them in your ae101 (i'm basing that on me putting st215 ones into my ae104)

How old are the shocks? TRD or not, if they are well used it's kind of pointless putting in 2nd hand bits.
