I need a good tow vehicle, it needs to be able to tow
25,000lbs (11,000kg) up to at least 60kmph, also needs to carry approx 1,000kg of equipment.
Would prefer auto and at least a v6.

Budget around $80,000

What would the recommendations be?

For that money, I'd buy this and screw whatever it was you wanted to tow (presumably the plane)

Even a 6 wheeler truck would be overloaded by that much weight

It'd be 12 tonne on the deck with tools and tare about 8 tonne with his tools, I was thinking six wheelers could only go to 18 or 19 tonne as thats what my old works 6 wheeler was stickered at.

you wont get a legal 11 ton tow rating on anything short of a reasonable size truck

When do you need it?

Do you expect to use this day to day as well?

What Dlic classes do you have?

What style of trailer will it have to tow?

does the budget include trailer?

If the trailer already exists:
what brakes on the trailer? (air? electric?)
how much weight does it transfer?
what hitch style is it?

How many km's will you be covering in a year? (proposed changes to RUC charges will affect your choice if you are going to do lots of kms with it)

No, only weekends, after work etc

Currently i have a car license so limited to 4,5tons

No trailer, Military hitch A frame towbar

No trailer needed

The brakes are standard aero drum brakes

Military tow

Airfield to hanger is approx 600m, airfield to house is 3.4km, Airfield to workshop is 1.2km

Yeah there will be some road driving, especially getting to the field and back home. The towing will be done on government land, not sure if the road code applies on DOD land??

Land rovers tow 7700lbs so that's not too far off 25,000. Might just have to tow it out and then fuel her and such on the tarmac. Even un-loaded she weights in at a light 14,300lbs (6490kg), what about like a toyota dyna truck whats their towing capacity as there is one for sale on this forum
