Torsen oil

Postby tiny2009 » Thu Nov 24, 2011 11:38 am

Getting torsen installed tonight but need some oil. How much oil is needed and what viscosity?
Normal grandad oil is fine? Anyone have particular recommendations for brands?

Diff is from a Turbo manual jzx100 or 90 and going in the 110.

I always ran Valvoline Duragear 75w/90 in mine
Its a semi synthetic GL5 rated oil - good quality without the baby's blood pricetag.

A jzz30/jza80 diff takes ~2L, Altezza 0.9, jzx are somewhere in between

make sure you use a normal gear oil in the torsen diffs, not an "LSD oil". this is important. i use 85/90 grade, and change every 20000km or so if driven hard.
