ST165 replacing front hub flanges to 55mm.

Postby sergei » Mon Nov 28, 2011 7:20 pm

I want to use ST205 front rotors without any modifications to rotors (consumables after all) on ST165. The current problem is that ST165 has 54mm locator.
ST205 uses 55mm.
According to Bazda AE101/AE111 uses 55mm locator, now that is not good as I want it to be 5x100.
The options are:

AT21X flange?
ST21X flange (Caldina/Celica)?
they are 5x100 but are they 55mm?

Are there any more options? Will they press into original bearing?
If not are the ST21X hubs/knuckle interchangeable with ST165/185 hubs?

After short research here are interesting facts:

ST21X Caldina, ST21X Carina, ST165 Celica, ST202 SS1 Celica share part numbers for bearing, ie they run same bearing (90369‑38003).
ST21X Caldina and ST21X Carina share part numbers for flange (43502‑20131).
ST202 Celica runs different flange (what is the difference?).

Now can some one confirm if the locator size on either those vehicles is 55mm?

According to this:

It is 55 mm for *T20* celica.

Not quiet the same *T19* carina, but nevertheless it is 55mm too:

Why not just put machine up a spacer a couple of mm thick, heat it up before fitting so it shrinks on, then machine it down to 55mm.

Did that on the rear of my car when going from drums to disc (ford sierra rear end with nissan discs)

Because, then I will have one piece reliable factory solution, and if I even have to replace flange (they are known to "shrink"), it is off-the self unit.
