Just a note, I was at Mangere yesterday and came across something I hadn't seen listed here. A Carina/Corona w/ a manual Gen 3 3SGE. It's missing the gearbox but the engine is mostly complete. The head and sump/oil pump etc would be a real winner for anyone with a Gen 2 3SGE or 3SGTE. If the weather was better and I didn't already have too many parts in the garage I would've taken them myself

Probably the one I pulled the gearbox off - was it green? - can confirm its an st202 carina, with 3sge. Listed on their stock list as an st205 (it's not).

yeah that's the one, did Kiwi Corolla post it up here? I don't remember seeing anything with a 3SGE listed (I just scan the posts for mentions of 3SGEs or 3SGTEs)

Anybody been out to avondale recently?

Is the sw20 out there pretty well stripped now? If anybody is passing that way and wants to take a pic or two of it i'd appreciate it. Exterior and engine bay, kthxbye

Must have missed that one. I was back there today but didn't check the forums before I left. If it's still there next time I'll do a report on it.

Was dropping something off in Tauranga today so popped into the Pick-A-Part down there and was quite impressed with the stock that they've got there compared to Auckland. There was a facelift AE100 Corolla G-Touring wagon with the front lip and sideskirts (front lip now gone thanks to me), AE111 Levin BZ-G (SuperStrut) and an AE101 Corolla FX-SJ, to name a few. Might have to venture down there more often

My flatmate ran up the back of a curren in the weekend.

Do any of the Auckland yards have a AE100 shape corolla with the front end in good knick? Need a r/h HL, bumper, grille and bonnet.

There's a few hatchbacks and a couple of station wagons at the Takanini yard, and one white sedan with a good bonnet on it at Mangere. Could sell your flatmate my old bumper (pre-facelift) if he's interested.

Sweet, thanks for that, we may be in touch about the bumper. I don't suppose any of them are that goldy champagney colour?

Also, is that kt147 still at mangere?

No worries. Nah I don't think any of them are that colour unfortunately. Mostly all white or red. Didn't have a chance to check to see if the KT147 was still at Mangere today sorry as it started pissing down with rain. Had a quick squizz to see if there was anything new Corollas but didn't take much notice of the other models. Will do next time I'm there though.

White GX90 at Takanini

Auto, facelift, 180k on the clock, body and engine intact as at 2.30pm Monday. Some interior dismantled and front hubs taken.

Quite depressing to see a pretty mint looking white facelift sitting there :(

It's really easy to get under the cars. They're propped up on old steel rims that are welded together (a horizontal one that lays on the ground and a vertical one that the sills of the car sit on). The ground is covered in rocks but it's easy to lie on (a good trick is to whip the carpet out from the boot of the car you're working on and lie on it so that you don't get covered in crap in the process).

No worries. Oh yeah, and in case you happen to cut yourself, rip off a piece of sound deadening from the boot or under the interior carpet as it makes a bloody good (no pun intended) sponge to soak up the blood
