Ok yes it's early but this applies to 2012:

"In 2012, drivers will not be allowed to move back onto the racing line after having moved off it to defend their position."

WTF

Well that's rather stupid IMO. Wouldn't it be better to say you can only move twice or something along those lines.

Yip, most retarded law to come out IMO.
Will miss out on epic defending drives like Schuey and Hamilton at Monza this year, and hamilton and Webber at korea. Great defensive driving is great to watch.

Exactly.
We want passing. but real passing where they have to fight and out think/brake/brave the other driver.
Not cruise past because the guy in front can only:
a: stay on the racing line and open up the inside
b: defend the inside and be waaay put of position for the apex of the corner

well that is stupid. What happened to the one move rule?

On the other side of the equation, 9 spots still open and will be very interested to see who fills them! Id like to see Sutil alongside Raikkonen, with a decent car there could be potential there. Force India in general have impressed this year

Grosjean for the 2nd seat at Lotus. Senna and Petrov still without a spot.

I just think its going to lead to alot more passing on the outside, and potentially greater chance of bumping wheels as the guy defending is still going to brake late while on the slippery stuff, so it will provide good racing in some ways, but as already mentioned above, it will be a travesty to not see racing like Schuey and Hammy in Monza, now that was the most exciting set of F1 laps in the last 30 years atleast.

2012 will be a cracker anyway, with exceptional new tv coverage. Im fizzing to see what Sky have in store for us, a dedicated F1 channel sounds to good to be true in NZ, but Im sure we will get lots more action regardless. Anthony Davidson and Crofty will still be doing FP1,2 and 3 which is a great save, and then MB and crofty for quali and the race.

Raikonnen will take a bit of time to get used to the new tyres and full tanks, he never was one for economical driving so he will need to adapt a bit, he better hope Romain doesnt get the better of him in the early part of the season or his stocks will plummet quickly.

And now we patiently wait for the team launches :)

Interesting fact I heard the other day. Denny Hulme is so far the only F1 world champion to die of natural causes :?

Wow thats quite a scary fact :(

Very ironic that even though he died of "natural causes" he just happened to be thrashing an M3 around 'the' mountain at the time, and the elevated heart rate is probably what caused the arrest.

I recall watching that day live on tv and thinking to myself-What a way to go :)

Denny Hulme, legend...

yeah...poor Robert :( I hate to say it but its going to be a very tall order for him to get back into an F1 car. He might have the will but that wont get you very far when your body is as badly damaged as his is.

On a happier, or should I say, interesting note...Caterham nee Lotus are working on a very tricky ride height levelling device that the FIA has deemed legal. It works by optimising the ride height at all times and is operated by the torque from the braking system.

Ferrari, and I expect alot of other teams are already working furiously on their own versions of this innovation to see how it can be incorporated into their 2012 chassis. All only weeks out from the first tests of the season hehe

I love this sport :)

Have to say, while I quite often don't agree with your views, I always find them good for a chuckle.

Absolutely :) Even though I never thought Ron Howard would make anything I would enjoy.

What a great year to remake into a film though. I have some photos of them running James Hunts Mclaren around the 'ring, with camera cars in front of it.

On another note, Kimi has just complete 660kms of testing in a 2 year old Renault.

And the reactive ride height system that was being Pioneered by Lotus has been banned by the FIA!!!

And finally, Ferrari's new car has been leaked through the italian media and appears to be the illigitimate love child of last years car and a fighter jet.
