Car is now in manual format with three pedals on the floor.

Looking forward to taking it for a drive.

Gearbox is pretty good for a pick a part random gearbox. Is a little whiny on trailing throttle, but the synchro's are all sweet.

Clutch pedal is SUPER light, and brake pedal sits quite high, so might take a bit of getting used to.

Do the corollas come with ECT? If so then there might a ECT ECU somewhere you will have to unplug.

Hey Leon. I do not know if it applies to your situation but a few guys get blinking/solid OD lights when they swap from auto to manual in a car that is equipt with ECT. It used to be selectable in some older toyotas , eg AE92 FXGT (power, economy) ect , but i think it is now integrated into how much the pedal is depressed and throttle butterfly is open etc but not too sure.. Here is some reading that might explain it a bit better.

Ah right.

OD light bulb is now sitting in the ash tray, so the blinking light issue is now not an issue 8)

The AE101 GT auto sedans (4A-GE ST) had ECT-S (power and manual) but I'm not too sure about the BZ Touring wagons.

EDIT: Yes they did infact have ECT-S, both pre-facelift and facelift.

ECT is electronic controlled transmission,

and older models had a separate ECU to run the transmission,
and the OD light is basically the check engine light for the Auto ECU.

The Ae101 has the ECT ECU built into the Engine ECU,
but I would suspect the OD light is flashuing as you are still runnign the Auto ECU and is will be saying that the solenoids are faulty as of course they are disconnected now,

which is why the easyist way to get rid of the light is remove the bulb.
