Rim Repairs

Hi All,

I have some Racing Sparco NS-II's (or a copy of them) and they have some curb gouging etc, nothing to stop a tyre being mounted on or it getting a wof but I am going to get them painted soon and re shod in fresh rubber so would like to get them up to spec.

Can anyone recomend a good place on the shore or central city in auckland?

Arrow are probably the best guys I have dealt - they are in west auckland, there's another chap in penrose I forget their name though - but he gave me a massive quote so didn't go there.

I think there is some mobile crowd thats based on the shore though? Also can't think of their name - must need a coffee to wake up my brain.

Wheel Fix It.


Theres a fellow based in barrys pt called Brugar engineering. Made a good job of repairing an 80's cast alloy wheel with two good size bends and cracks for $200.

Wasn't too impressed with Aarow wheels last time, left a dimple out and scorched the sticker on my rims. But otherwise OK.
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.

Arrow are expensive.

Auckland Wheel Repairs (Onehunga) are also kinda expensive.

I used to use an engineering place in Manukau, but they've now moved to the shore and integrated with Wheel Fix It, good prices and good work.

However, as you've mentioned you're going to be painting them, why not just bog/neutech and sand?

Stick them on the car and chuck it in gear on blocks etc If it's just the outter rim anyway.

I was under the impression that they added metal? do they just bog???

no they dont bog them , dave is telling ua cheaper alternative , brugar engineering in barrys point rd is great , they do all my work . 8)

I went to uni with Nick from Wheel Fix It. He's a good guy and seems to know his stuff from talking to him.

His business expanded very quickly and I suspect there's good reason for it. His father part owns it with him and he's been in business a long time too.

Plus they'll fix it at your house, and if the repair is quite substantail, they'll put some spare rims on your car and take the wheels with them. Far better then dropping your car off or having to cart mags everywhere.

i've used brugar before with good results. was not particularly cheap, but then the job was not particularly small. you get what you pay for. he was a good guy to deal with.

have seen the wheel fixit guy around, and heard good things. but no personal experience.
