To stiffen it up aren't they? I think I read that somewhere. Makes sense I guess if there's no gap for movement. I hope they come in pink.

Was just sent this from poobaru.

Secure one of only 12 BRZs.

This December, only 12 Subaru BRZs are due to arrive in New Zealand. Since you’re a Subaru enthusiast, we’re giving you the first chance to lock one in.

We’re looking to squeeze this unique, Boxer-engined beast in for under $60,000* and, if you’re one of the first twelve to pre-order and pay a $1,200* deposit, we’ll include a personalised Euro-plate and a 3-year service plan. You’ll also be invited to the exclusive launch event, where you’ll be taught all about the BRZ and get to put it through its paces on the track.

$60k. WTF. The Nissan Silvia delivered all this car did 20 years ago and cost closer to $40k.

Seems like a rip off to me, has the hype machine blinded people?

40k 20 years ago. 60 sounds about right. No one honestly expected 40k did they?
I wonder if Toyota will have them enmasse or limited edition like the last Corolla GT

For a couple of k more you end up with a more practical and quicker car. 60k wouldn't be bad if it had the wrx or sti motor atleast imo

Note 1stly that they're advertising it for under 60K. Edit: As pricing hasn't been released for NZ yet AFAIK, I'd wager they're just giving it quite a wide berth so that they're certainly not under the actual price, as that is a lot worse than being over the actual price...

AND

That is the higher-end model as it has ventilated disk brakes on both front and rear. The lower-spec is supposed to have solid discs at the rear.

So expect the base model to be a bit cheaper, and then if the rest of the world is to go by, the Toyota version to be slightly cheaper than that still.
Cheers,
Brandon
