ST183 Celica Steering Column

Postby MAC_HATER » Thu Feb 23, 2012 10:17 pm

Hey everyone,

Celica has failed a warrant on "Steering Column slack"

the column is bolted on nice and tight and doesnt move - but it is an adjustable tilt\length one - and you can jiggle the steering wheel up and down about a cm in each direction

apart from this you can extend or retract the length of the column, but you cant adjust it up or down - ive had a bit of a tinker but its all tight - im suspecting the column itself is damaged? as its never worked properly - would that be a fair guess?

if thats the case it would probably be better to get a second hand replacment and swap them over? are there any differences between the models of celica?

Cheers :)

Aaron

From memory it will have bearings internally which are poked. Just go down to pick a part and grab one, atleast that way you will have practise in pulling it off aswell.
The GT4 is to Celicas what the GTR is to skylines.
