WTBorrow Impact Gun *sorted*

Postby GDII » Sun Mar 11, 2012 7:07 pm

After today's issue with the nylock nut not undoing on my suspension top I am wanting to borrow an impact gun to get it off. I have tried as many things as I could to get it off but it's determined to stay put. I think even with the gun it will take some persuading to undo.

Is the strut still in the car? I'm thinking it's the front of your MR2? Try sitting in the frunk while undoing it

Right rear. Tried to undo it in the car and out. Just won't move. The nut is starting to show signs of damage from the socket so it's stuck tight.

Oh ok, it's the first thing you loosen when pulling struts out.
Good luck!

Hammer and chisel could definitely be an option but a nut splitter won't work as the nut is recessed inside the tophat.

I have access to a pneumatic rattle gun so I will see if that works before I go attacking it.
