door swaping - toyota corona

Postby NOLAW » Sun Apr 29, 2012 11:27 pm

ok long story short someone backed into my rear passenger door on my 95 corona, iv found a replacement door but it has electric windows and mine has manual ones, can i still use this door and set up my manual window winders or am i better off finding a door with manual window winders?

cheers

You can try swapping the inside bits like the inner door panel and the glass mechanism etc. Probably would be easier to get a manual wind up door from the start. Not sure sorry. I think it probably can be done, but might be too much headache for what its worth.

I cant be 100% sure but I would expect that swapping the window and regulator would be quite easy and the mount would be the same.

It would surprise me if it would not work.

If they are the same as the ae101 corolla and they should be, just swap out the regulator for the winder and the wiring harness although that wouldn't matter, just make it neater. The mounting points would be the same.

Its a simple straight forward swap over job.The holes in the door are all there for both electric windows or manual windows.
