Truck mech working on it. Is auto and removing the gearbox. Sump is off but there is an alloy housing that bolts to the bottom of the block and the bellhousing. He cannot find how its connected to the bellhousing. Anyone know? Leveraging it with a bar its definily bolted on somehow. Cannot see an access panel in the bellhousing to allow internal access to any bolts

I am stupid, there is 3 bolts each side and 2 on bottom. It is separate piece from sump/block and bell housing. Bolts are there but paid to fine and remove. Hope this helps you.

Cheers for that. Must be sealant holding it in there. It's very secure at that end with all those bolts out

Did he manage to remove? Plate may have side screws as could be L shape. That is old ford, may i ask why spend money on fixing? Gearbox maybe $2000 new zealand dollar plus.

Oh, then i hope he has good luck.

2nd hand gearbox require recondition before put back in car as never know quality of pervious person drive. Cost price through bnt is still going to be a few hundred of dollars for all seals. Maybe i wrong.
