Another super solid weekend for Mitch Evans, with a 5th and a 4th place leaves him second in the standings so lets hope this continues throughout the year.

A huge escape for Connor Daly who hit the back of the car in front as he exited the tunnel, and proceeded to get vertically airbourne and thrown into the catch fencing before luckily landing back on his wheels, and bringing out the red flag.

Also, a massive crash on the first lap of the second GP2 race, with the 2 leaders coming together into Ste Devote, then a 10 car pile up at the top of the hill going into Massenet. Lucky everyone involved escaped injury.

Cant wait for tonights race,, and the following Indy 500 an hour later, Im
going to be tired tomorrow thats for sure :)

Go Schu!!

Go Dixon!!

Go Mitch!

Yeah that Daly crash was scary, I think the guy in front will be getting a stern talking to! If not a severe beating out back :?

They excluded him from the results off the race, but for ignoring black/orange flags.

Maybe a reprimand will be issued before the next race for his weaving.

Presuming he had an issue with the contact at the start. I see a couple laps after he retired they said him and grojean would be investigated after race so guessing michael made a complaint...

Was the best 15 laps I think I've seen in recent races!

Thank you My sky!

Managed to watch the entire race in around 30 mins this morning.

Pretty boring apart from the last 15 laps, was really hoping for a downpour to throw it into chaos.

Happy to see Webber grab a win, keeps the run of different winners alive.

Schu retired with fuel pick up problems :(

The only reason the incident with him at Grosjean came up on the screen as being investigated is because the stewards check out every incident, just to be sure that there is nothing obviously wrong with any drivers behaviour.

Grosjean had nowhere to go once Alonso pushed him across into Michael so it was nothing more than a racing incident at the end of the day.

Roll on Montreal, and some better luck for Schu, hopefully.

P.S A huge shame that Dixon didnt win the indy 500

Don't give the slippery Spaniard a sniff I'm telling you he'll take that proverbial mile.

Not F1 but damn that crash of Anthony Davidsons was pretty nasty at Le Mans! Broken back but presuming he will heal okay doesn't sound like anything else is damaged... Yet...

Yes a very lucky escape for him as it could have been alot worse at that speed. Hopefully it can heal quickly and he can keep racing competitively.

The speed differentials between classes are so huge at that track, its scary...let alone at night.

Yes it certainly was a great podium line up as far as having 3 champions up there.

They shared the podium 4 or 5 times in the past so it must have felt like old times to all of them.

I was just so F'n happy to see the dice finally roll Michaels way, and the way he drove the last ten laps of that race was exactly why I will always be a fan of his. From 10th to 3rd in 10 laps is stunning, and a sign of things to come.

Roll on Silverstone :)

Yes but there were times where he was being passed like he was an elderly driver out for a sunday drive.

To be honnest the first 2/3rds of the race were completley boring, and I almost turned it off. So glad I didn't, haven't seen so much excitement in an F1 race for ages. Especially at Valencia.

I think Hamilton made a tactical error not to let Raikkonnen past earlier, and let him push Alonso hard, meaning Alonsos tyres would have been shot, and it would have been Canada all over again. Plus Hamilton would have saved his tyres meaning he wouldn't have been struggling against Maldonado, resulting in Maldanados brain explosion.

I agree, Michaels pace on the prime was poor, but they were trying to seee if they could run a 1 stopper, so he was purposely driving them as slow as possible while trying to keep people from passing without using any aggression on the wheel, as thats what kills the Pirellis...running in free air has never been more beneficial.

Once they got the short end of the stick when the safety car came out, and realised from looking at the data that they werent going to be able to pull it off in one stop, his race pace improved markedly.

It must be so frustrating having to drive an F1 car like the current generation need to be driven, but slowly everyone is starting to get a grip on things (no pun intended)

The amount of upgrades o the RBR car was astounding!! Its virtually a new car!!

Expect alot of upgrades from the main players, and midfield (if you can call them that still?) at Silverstone. I predict a blinder again :)

Id rage if I had to 'baby' the tyres for extended periods of time. Has made the sport more exciting; watching drivers tempt fate with the cliff of tyre wear but imo, has seriously hampered the speed of the sport.

Couldnt agree more. Its made the really exceptional drivers not be able to utilise their outright pace, and is rewarding the midfield pack with a slow and considered drive where tyre preservation is more important.

I try not to be too bah humbug about it as I imagine by the end of the season the main teams will 100% understand the current tyre conundrum, so there will be far less variables during a race. But the teams will always have to setup the car with compromise which=slower cars overall.
