Shipping wheels from O/S Customs? GST?

Postby Al » Fri Jun 01, 2012 9:31 pm

Thinking about bringing a set of wheels in. They will be sent sea freight 4-6 weeks.

They will be packed and addressed separately. Each wheel won't break the $400nzd limit, but all four do and then some. Anyone not get stung with GST?

When I imported my coilovers. I had to pay a MAF fee as well. But its kinda small. I wouldn’t be too worried about paying 100 bux in GST or something. Your shipping cost would be your biggest expense.

My mate got done for this, 2 sets of 18's with tyres from auz, customs siezed all but the 1 wheel sent to him for evasion of tax,
He was the ordered to pay the tax he was avoiding, some other fines and never got the wheels, he had a lawyer involved and that just cost him more with no result
