Cheers Coryn

I'm still running the stock paper air filter and air box so it should make some difference for me.

If you decide you dont wany your factory airbox mate, I might be keen for it as the outlet pipe comes out on far more of an angle compared to the NA box, so it has more room for some intercooler piping to run across the top of it to go through the fender lining.

Good to see you are giving it a go mate

It'll be a bity fiddley as mentioned earlier and you saw those Blitz SUS Filters are a bit on the big side so they are as above a little fiddley to fit but once they are in i think they look the part and will give you a nice increase over what you have.

Saber rider birthday rum drinking on night of Saturday 7th, there could be opportunity for Supra shiney bit installations the day after - depending on healing process.

Have this setup now installed, has a temporary (bad) filter placement setup until I get another K&N filter so I can squeeze them both up behind the headlight.

Went for a bit of a blat around last night, and at higher rpm's I did hit boost cut (gave me a bit of a fright, feels like something broke and the check engine light comes on for 5 seconds, which is right around 16psi.

The max boost I reached at the last dyno day was 12.7 so there is a change there.

I also feel that the transition point where the 2nd turbo joins in at ~4000rpm is much smoother now, only a slight dip on the boost guage at this point now, previously it would drop to 5.6psi

It also feels like the first turbo spools up faster and makes a bit more boost. The next chance I have to get on the dyno at STM we'll have some pretty graphs to compare.

How cold was it outside when you hit boost cut, Luke?

Winter nights always give a bit more boost, but its clear the system is working better than it did for Coryns already modified intake setup.

Glad you got some positive results from it :)

^^^^^^^

With Reith on this one air temp makes a difference and before you go on the dyno next time get a BCC fitted there cheap as chips.

10-11 psi is the boost you should be looking for on the front turbo before the transition.

PS there is a was a Blitz SBC ID Boost controller F/S on trademe I think the last bid I saw last night was about $205 that also would have been a steal to have.

Yea I'm sure the cold night would have been responsible for a bit of it. But it has nudged boost cut during the day just as I shifted gear, noticed the warning lights come on, then off.

The other big benefit I think will be giving the second turbo a break from fighting for air over the first turbo when it gets shock loaded with a bunch of exhaust gas.

I'll leave it as is for now, I really should have changed gear already on both occasions, lol.

I don't want to spend any more money on the twins once the filters are sorted. Or punish them and their fragile ceramic wheels.

I'll probably look at a Link plug in ECU to control boost later down the track

Just checking it was boost cut you were hitting, and not rev limiter?

Def not rev limiter, or speed limiter, they are quite gentle and your car just stops accelerating.

boost cut feels like something has broken and the car jerks back quite fast, plus check engine and exlemation mark of doom light up. which does not happen with rev limit/speed cut.

lol.

My rev limiter is far from smooth, and it jerks the cars like a mofo...

You will have to give us a demo on sunday just to be sure ;)
