They are common for getting air trapped in the lines when doing a fuel filter change.
easiest method i find to do this is...
unhook and clamp of fuel hoses. this is important otherwise the fuel will drain back to tank and it will take ages to pump it back up.
change filter. put inlet fuel hose back on, pump primer until fuel starts coming out of filter outlet. fit outlet hose back on.
you may want to partly fit it on and pump the primer in an effort to keep the fuel hose filled with fuel. the less air left in the hoses the better.
start engine. DO NOT REV IT.
if its stops, due to bit of air in fuel hose, prime it till hard then restart.
whenever I change Diesel filters, 4X4, Diggers, Loaders, Trucks, etc, I always pre-fill my filters with fresh diesel before refitting
If that fails:
Use the manual pump then if the engine will not idle accelerator or the engine cuts out when coasting. Try undoing the injector lines at the injectors then turn over or if you can get it to idle then crack the injector lines one by one and let them leak a bit, you may see a buble or two in the infected line. This cleans up the issue and she will run well.
