Just interested in what sort of sumps you're all running - transverse engine or longitudinal engine.

I do like the idea of making a sump that holds a decent amount of oil and will help prevent surging.

Holds no oil.. but prevents surging

not "toyspeed" related but i have a winged and baffeled with hinges morosso sump on my s14 drift car and dave at d-tech fitted a pressure sensor switch that limits power at certain oil pressure and at low pressure motor shuts off to prevent oil starvation,

sensor bout $350 plus a tune map on the link, would benefit anyone that goes racing/hill climb whatever your into,

Beautiful dry sump, very jealous.

Luckily the jza80 has a very well designed "rear" sump from the factory, with large capacity, and a windage tray of sorts. I have tracked my car alot, and have an oil pressure gauge to keep an eye on things, but even running full slicks, Im yet to notice a drop off in OP through long constant radius turns.

With that said, if I ever have to remove my engine in the future, I will without a shadow of a doubt get a proper baffle system and complete windage tray installed to make my setup even safer.

i run a wet sump 3sge motor ,the only things that i have done is drop the oil pick up 5 mm further down with 1 gasket alloy spacer and another gasket
on the steel pan just block off around the pan and put a 26 mm extension on the dip stick hole .works well and im pulling 1.8 g through corners with wet sump
