Thats pretty much it...I guess its one of those cars that they expect owners to personalise.
I guess they'll just be erring on the side of caution WRT waiting list. I doubt they'll sell THAT fast.

Apparently is the international demand for them not the local demand. They are selling like hot cakes in Australia thanks to their strong economy and the 86's low asking price. I did see the numbers but we are not getting many in NZ this year

Looks like toyota nzs workshop and their plate surrounds on that white one. It'll be one of their cars that staff have been driving around in. They have a few about.

TRD Monoblock Brake Kit = $17.5k
TRD SF2 Wheels = $7k

.... I think they'll be a little way down my list :P

Geez what are they made out of, gold? Or do they come with a high priced call girl to fit them for you, and spend the night.

Indeed it makes the TRD edition seem very cheap by comparison.

Was looking at the prices today and pretty sure the kit is about 12.5k plus labour. But does require fitting larger wheels as the stock rims are too small

Considering im paying less then 1/4 the price for a set of two peice brakes with 6pot front and 4pot rear from Barry Im sure MRP can sort out a decent upgrade, I know its not TRD spec but they will stop the car just as well which is the point

Rims Id rather a set of volk vr.g2 for 5k landed from japland but hey hats my thoughts

I do like the look of the trd style :p

They are massively over kill on the GT86.. most race cars have lesser brake set ups.

The TRD kit will sport proper ABS and pedal calibration, it also comes with mounting adapters lines. I know you cant just bolt big brakes on modern cars and retain factory chassis systems.

Its a nice system if you were to increase power and go racing.

Would love to see someone fit some no brand brakes to their 50k coupe.. would love to see the insurance claim form when they fail.

Either set will need cert so insurance is no issue.

Looks like the landed price for a TRD BBK has just come down to $10,000+gst

Yes you would need to cert it.. the TRD must come with a cert plate for the brake lines, coil overs and brakes.

Do you think you would need the big brakes on the back?? I would only really need to do the fronts, I mean my car has similar Brembo's on the front and normal calipers on the back and it stops very well.

Wonder if you can order only the fronts and maybe match up the back with a pad upgrade.

The TRD model may not given its "factory built" as such?
