How to find a boost leak.

Hi all

I have started up my 2jzge turbo conversion and taken it for a short drive up and down the carpark.

Seems to be running well, idle is good, new trans changes gear, new diff moves the wheels.. etc

I want to make sure there isnt a boost leak in the system before I try to get it into postive pressure.

Any imput about the best way to do a boost leak test?

I have seen a guide online that suggests blocking off one end with a plastic cap and puting a vavle for a bicycle pump in the cap, then pressureing the system with that.
Is that a ok way to do it?

Cool,

I will have a go setting up a tester like that. Just one more thing, How long should the system hold pressure for and what PSI do you test up to? I will be running 10psi, but should I test it higher?

Dude I have one you can borrow,

you either do a static test and feed air in at the intake and block it before the throttle and it should hold indefinitely

or you use a compressor and feed a stream of air from the intake all the way through the engine and out the exhaust, it wont hold pressure as the air will pass through the engine but there will be enough back pressure for you to find leaks on the intake manifold, injectors etc.
