ST170 corona cam belt stuff

Postby mugen » Fri Oct 26, 2012 12:56 pm

Hey, been trawling this site and google tryna find a download for a st170 corona service manual with SFA luck. Replacing a cam belt on one next week and just want to know if anyone knows what size the crank pulley bolt is? Just want to make sure i have the right tools for the job.

Cheers, Dylan

Pull cover, check? Doubt the service manual even says what size bolt it is.
Reality: A nasty hallucination that is caused by excess blood in the alcohol stream.

If you have to ask this question, then I think you might have trouble doing rest of the job.

If it is a 3S/4S then it would have 19mm.
These bolts are very tight, and normally the easiest way to get them off is with breaker bar and starter method.

For rest of the job you will need 10mm, 12mm, 14mm (maybe 17mm) sockets and spanners, and various length extensions. Basically a normal metric tool set.
Also you will need 30mm socket to undo the spark plug hole nuts that hold the rocker cover in place (that is if you are doing a proper belt change, and not just putting new belt in). You could probably undo those nuts with an adjustable spanner. The reason why you need to remove rocker cover is to grab camshaft with a spanner while undoing the 14mm bolt on the camshaft belt pully.
