Was anyone aware that the Formula Atlantic cars are racing this weekend at Ruapuna as part of the Lady Wigram Revival weekend.

According to Qualifying there are 15 of them running,,

Hey, yes was aware. Yes got some photos. Yes they do sound good.

Mixture of 4age and BDA / BDG Engines

There was a mixture of the later american Atlantics. But only 7 of the true Formula Atlantics that we had here.

Was talking with Damon Leitch and apparently there are several Genuine 4age Atlantics very close to completion of full rebuilds and yes he agrees there are around 18 or so sitting in sheds around the country, just a cause of coaxing them out.

Ken smith was doing 1.18 / 1.17 around ruapuna.

How does that compare with fast OSCA cars or Supertourers? or MRS?

i didnt even pay attention to what they were... assumed boring single seater and carried on
they were "only" running 1:23 or so, which is still damn fast. steve ross was pushing the lap record for F5000 this week and last which is 1:18
fast saloons are in the 1:30 region give or take a couple
